Hello, Hudson Valley Food lovers! At Fränzel Restaurant, one of the things that truly sets us apart from other restaurants is our commitment to being a true scratch kitchen. We make just about everything in-house, including our breads, baked fresh daily with premium imported ingredients. This dedication to authenticity and quality elevates every dish on our menu, bringing genuine European flavors to your table with that unmistakable homemade touch. Located at 47 West Main Street in historic Goshen, New York, we're proud to blend traditional German roots with modern flair. Let's highlight what makes our fresh-baked breads so special and the specific menu items they enhance!

Our Signature Pretzel Rolls: A Twist on Tradition
Our pretzel rolls are baked fresh daily, delivering that perfect chewy crust with a soft, fluffy interior. Created with imported German Flour and Dipped in lye for authentic Bavarian shine and finished, they're an incredible companion to several of our signature sandwiches. Try them in the Pork Schnitzelwich or Chicken Schnitzelwich, where they're layered with schnitzel, sauerkraut, wholegrain mustard sauce, and Gruyère for a hearty, flavorful bite. They're also the star in our Not the Wurst Sandwich, featuring warm Leberkäse with caramelized onions and sauerkraut. It's that from-scratch quality that makes these dishes unforgettable!
Semolina Rolls: The Ultimate Sandwich Base
For standout sandwiches, our semolina rolls shine brightly. Crafted with imported German flour from Mühlenkönig and Semolina Flour from Caputo, they offer a nutty, golden crust that's crisp on the outside and tender within. The exceptional flour quality ensures superior texture and flavor, perfectly holding generous fillings. Enjoy them in the Italiener, piled high with chicken breast, prosciutto, burrata, tomato, basil pesto, and balsamic reduction. These rolls add real depth and authenticity—pure scratch-made excellence.
Everyday Fresh baked Breads: Blends from Arora and Küchenmeister
Our staple breads showcase premium mixes from Arora and Küchenmeister, resulting in loaves that are light, airy, and packed with wholesome goodness. From rustic country-style to seeded varieties, each is baked in small batches for maximum freshness. Arora brings earthy whole grains, while Küchenmeister delivers subtle sweetness and a flawless rise. These breads truly shine in items like the Wanderlust sandwich, featuring speck, salami, bologna, ham, herbed fresh cheese spread, tomato, and sliced pickles on our rustic German bread. They're also available as a side—baked fresh daily using imported German flour and ingredients, served with garlic herb butter—or in appetizers such as Obatzda, our traditional cheese spread with onion and spices or The Wurst Kase scenario, our artisanal charcuterie and cheese board. It's this level of in-house craftsmanship that sets Fränzel apart as a genuine scratch kitchen.
Weekend Special: Weck Rolls with Fußball, Frühstuck and Frühschoppen

Weekends get even better with our Weck rolls, available fresh every Saturday and Sunday morning! These traditional Baden-style Weckle or Brötchen as they're called feature their distinctive split top, honoring old-world baking traditions from the region. They're ideal for a proper Frühstück—topped with jam, cold cuts, eggs, or simply butter. Come in and catch some Fußball (soccer) and pair one with your meal here. Or relax into a classic Frühschoppen with light bites and perhaps a morning brew—these rolls are the perfect match. Limited supply means arriving early is key to enjoying them at their freshest!
Being a true scratch kitchen means every element, from our breads to our dishes, is made with passion and care right here in our kitchen. It connects our German heritage to our community and creates memorable meals you'll only find at Fränzel. Join us for lunch or dinner (Tuesday-Saturday 12-9pm, Sunday 2-8pm), savor these fresh-baked breads with your favorite menu items. What's your favorite way to enjoy our house-made breads?
